Claire Breen Melwani
Claire Breen Melwani joined Murphy & Partners in January 2019, bringing over 20 years of business development experience and access to an extensive global network to the firm.
Prior to joining Murphy & Partners Claire served as a Senior Strategic Advisor for Art Basel Business Initiatives working alongside the executive committee to develop a new, global initiative for the brand and at Edipresse Media as the Editor-in-Chief of Tatler, Hong Kong. By combining a new editorial approach and enhanced digital strategy for the 40 year-old brand, she expanded Tatler’s reach by launching new products including Generation T, an annual list of game changers and innovators from the worlds of art, design, tech, entertainment and philanthropy.
Previously Claire held senior roles at the Financial Times, managing commercial initiatives for the Asia Pacific region with a focus on luxury, arts and culture and at Condé Nast, Britain heading up the Contract Publishing division; launching publications for clients including Tate galleries bi-monthly, newsstand title Tate. During her six years at the FT, Claire managed publishing projects and events including the UBS MAP Global Art Initiative publication, Love Art at The Peninsula programme in partnership with the Royal Academy, and the annual Live Lunch with the FT during Art Basel Hong Kong.
Having co-founded the Sassy Media Group in 2010 to produce digital lifestyle content for women in Asia and the UAE, Claire maintains board positions for FilmAid Asia, BAFTA Hong Kong and is a founding member of the British Fashion Council Fashion Trust, Hong Kong.
Claire holds a BA in Public Relations and Marketing and started her career at Saatchi and Saatchi Rowland in Hong Kong.
