An art historian by training, Tom has more than 12 years’ experience advising private collectors and museums, managing artists, curating exhibitions, and writing about modern and contemporary art. Based in London, Tom advises our clients on acquisitions and sales of artists in a broad range of fields, from Kurt Schwitters to Andy Warhol, from Louise Bourgeois to Pierre Huyghe, and many areas between and beyond.
Prior to joining Murphy & Partners, Tom spent four years as a Director at Hauser & Wirth where he helped some of the most prominent private and public collections acquire artworks, in addition to working closely with several leading international artists and artist estates. Previously Tom worked at Simon Lee Gallery and Haunch of Venison in London and New York.
Tom has an extensive network of global clients and partners and a nuanced understanding of the relationship between art history, the market and how to build sophisticated and resonant collections.
